Water, Water... Everywhere!

So... when I finally came downstairs this morning, after getting ready for work, I found that my kitchen counter and the cabinet under the sink both were "under water," so to speak. I didn't take the time to measure exactly how much water had pooled up but it was enough to require a bath towel to get it all sopped up. I was completely baffled by how this could have happened, though, because the sink and disposal haven't been leaking since this weekend and all I did was run the dishwasher before bed last night.

Ugh! So frustrating!! Not only did my Dad just help me fix a leak associated with a broken disposal last weekend- but of course this had to happen on a weekday when I'm already feeling a little rushed to get out the door on time for work. By the time I removed everything from underneath the cabinet and off the counter and dried up all of the water with a towel, I knew that I would be late to work. PLUS, I had no idea who to call for help or how much something like this will cost.

Luckily, because all of the pipes under the sink were dry, Lambit and I came to the conclusion that it's probably the dishwasher or the hook-ups for it which is the culprit this time- and not the new disposal. So, until I can get someone out to inspect the issue, I will just wash everything by hand and avoid using the dishwasher. I know that may not seem realistic for some but I live alone, so the dishwasher is mainly a tool of convenience which enables laziness- lol.

Needless to say, my day got off to a rocky start and was only made worse by the fact that I got into work 30-minutes late. I spent the better part of the day trying to get back on track and playing catch up, which was really stressful, so I was actually thankful when the workday ended and it was time to go to the gym. I wasn't necessarily looking forward to the workout, per se, but I knew that it would allow me to work off some steam and get my mind back into a good place.

After 30-minutes of circuit strength training, followed by 35-minutes of running sprint intervals, I headed home and to make dinner and, just as I'd suspected, my mood had done a complete 180 by the time I got home. I actually enjoyed cooking tonight, washed dishes as I went, and was able to eat dinner in a relaxed state- all of which made for a peaceful evening. So, even though I still have the problem of the dishwasher to deal with eventually, I didn't let it ruin my day. Winning!
