A Case of the Mondays

Ahhhh, don't you just love Mondays? I woke up late, sore and sunburned, and still tired from the activities of the day before... I resisted the urge to laze in bed all day, got ready for work in a hurry, and quickly scarfed down some cereal and coffee before heading out the door. Thankfully work wasn't that busy but that all changed the moment I got in my car and began driving to the gym.
Once I arrived at the gym, I quickly changed clothes and hopped on the treadmill to get in a decently-paced 3mi run, then stumbled into my 60-minute yoga class dripping in sweat. As much as I think that my time could be better spent, say, taking a 60-minute weight-lifting class, I have to admit that I really do enjoy the yoga. I always leave feeling super-relaxed and with the knowledge that the stretching was really worthwhile.

But the peace that I felt after an hour of yoga was quickly erased by a rushed trip to the grocery store, followed by a mad-dash to cook and eat dinner at a "semi-reasonable" hour. Unfortunately, despite having good intentions and working feverishly to chop, slice, sautee and bake, it was 9:30pm before I sat down to eat and I was still running on so much adrenaline that I had to stop 3/4 of the way through my meal because my stomach was in knots. As a result, I wound up straightening the kitchen but leaving a half-dozen "non-dishwasher" dishes in the sink to be washed another day because I barely had the energy to shower the gym sweat off of me- let alone deal with scrubbing pots, pans, cutting boards, knives, etc.

After talking a little bit with Lambit via text message and watching some randomness on TV, I loaded up the dishwasher so that it could do it's magic throughout the night, took a few minutes to type out this blog and will now make my way up to bed. I'm feeling super-exhausted and hoping that will help me get to sleep a bit easier than I have been the past few weeks or so.
